Honeypot Espionage is an online VR first-person shooter where you compete against, and try to kill, other players. It is set apart primarily by its stealth mechanics.

A Bit Of Spying With Goggles

Honeypot Espionage is a fairly standard online shooter, where you and other players start out on equal footing, find pickups during the match, and kill each other with the ultimate goal of beating one another. There's multiple game modes, between team-based and free-for-all, both classic and unique. There's a twist, though, besides the VR: if you want to stay alive, you'll want to stay still and out of the way of fire. If you move, fire your weapon, or do much else, you become visible. Until then, you can't be seen.

An Informative Experience

This stealth mechanic isn't totally new to shooters in general, but it's unique as a universal mechanic for a multiplayer shooter, and for VR especially. That makes Honeypot Espionage a different kind of fun, and it makes it a bit easier to overlook the lack of single player options and the fact you need a roomy, 360 degree play area. In other words, if the concept appeals to you, the game's flaws are all too easy to overlook.
